District 27 is pleased to announce the District winner 2013:

Julia Klaudia Jaskolska (Nominated by ZC Warsaw/Poland)

Having studied Material Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Julia has developed a real passion for sustaining the world’s scarce resources. After graduating with a Major in Material Science and Engineering and a Minor in Management, she will go on to study Sustainable Development in Cambridge University for her Masters. Her studies in management have allowed Julia to become eligible for the Jane M. Klausmann Scholarship. As part of an International Honours program at MIT, in 2012 she travelled to Brazil, South Africa and Vietnam. Throughout the duration of her travels, Julia presented the best comparative research project in the history of the program. Her continuous involvement with various projects within MIT has resulted in her actions being described as ‘exemplary and extrodinary’.

Julia’s education also proceeds to elevate her achievements to a spectacular level and she found her way into MIT through various scholarships and support systems. Julia’s continued to motivate herself to achieve the best and naturally flourished academically. Subsequently, she has become a well known name within the world of scholars and will continue to uphold her reputation by striving to combine business and engineering in order to obtain knowledge that can eventually be used to help sustain the world’s resources.

Currently, Julia is seeking funding to obtain her offered placement in the Cambridge MPhil program. Now having won the Jane M. Klausmann Women in Business Scholarship on District level, she is one step closer to achieving the goals she set out to achieve when she left school in Poland.

“THE JANE M. KLAUSMANN WOMEN IN BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP WOULD BRIDGE THAT FINANCIAL GAP ALLOWING ME TO PERSUE AND EDUCATION THAT OPENS DOORS IN MY PROFESSIONAL CAREER. MOST IMPORTANTLY, HOWEVER, IT WILL ALLOW ME TO BECOME A PART OF AN OUTSTANDING GROUP OF WOMEN LEADERS WITH WHOM I WOULD WORK IN MY FUTURE CAREER AS A MANAGER IN THE BUSINESS OF MAKING THE WORLD A MORE SUSTAINABLE PLACE.” -JULIA KLAUDIA JASKOLSKA
