We stand for a world where women have access to all resources and are fairly represented in decision-making positions. We stand for a world where no woman lives in fear of violence.... our mission is clear Zonta International is actively dedicated to change by giving women a voice worldwide. We do this through service and advocacy, both locally and internationally. Beyond that, our clubs celebrate young girls and young women with scholarships and awards such as the Young Women in Public Affairs Award, the Jane M. Klausman Scholarship, and the Amelia Earhart Fellowship.We act in line with Zonta International President Salla Tuominen's vision for 2024-2026: "The challenges facing women and girls globally are vast and complex, reflecting deeply ingrained societal norms, systemic inequalities and discriminatory practices. In the face of these challenges, Zontians stand ready to take action. "The Zonta International Biennial Goals for 2024-2026 are aligned with Zonta International’s mission, vision and strategic plan and outline the focus for the 2024-2026 Biennium. These goals describe the most critical items for our organization to concentrate on in the next two years as we build a better world for women and girls. CREDIBLE AND VISIBLE VOICE By focusing on increasing Zonta International’s credibility and visibility we move closer to achieving Zonta’s mission. While many actions need to be taken, during the 2024- 2026 Biennium, service and advocacy focus will be on the following areas: Violence Against Women, Climate Justice, Women in Decision-Making and Education Equality.CLUB SUCCESS It is through the work of individuals and clubs that we build a better world for women and girls. Celebrating club successes maintains a strong membership base while fostering the Zonta Spirit.LEADERSHIP AND SUSTAINABILITY Zonta must continue to manage its resources, meet our vision and ensure our long-term viability and success. Governance, leadership and internal structures are addressed to enable the effective achievement of Zonta’s mission.ENGAGEMENT OF AUDIENCE AND ALLIES In order to further Zonta’s mission and extend Zonta's voice, we will on all levels develop collaborations with like-minded organizations.Do you want to be a part of the change for young girls and women worldwide? ## About Us
- [About Us](https://www.zonta-district27.org/about-us): District 27 dedicates its time and energy to making a better world and reality for young girls and women. Equality and education for all, violence for none.

## Our Causes
- [UN Commission on the Status of Women](https://www.zonta-district27.org/our-causes): Of the 6,155 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with consultative status at the United Nations (UN), only 141 have General Consultative Status, the highest status an NGO can have at the UN. Zonta International was granted General Consultative Status in 1969.
As an NGO with General Consultative Status, Zonta International is invited to participate in the annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York.
- [Ending Child Marriage](https://www.zonta-district27.org/our-causes): Since 2014, Zonta has supported projects that work to end child marriage. In 2018, we donated US$2 million to UNFPA-UNICEF’s Global Programme to End Child Marriage - the first private sector donor to the Global Programme. To support Phase II of their program, we donated an additional US$1,500,000. Thus, we continue to prevent child marriage, increase opportunities for young ladies, and support married girls.
- [Zonta Says NO](https://www.zonta-district27.org/our-causes): “Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women” is a global campaign that fights against violence against women. Since its inception in 2012, the campaign has raised awareness of international violations of women’s rights. Annually, Zonta clubs carry out campaigns against gender inequality and violence against women. From November 25 to December 10, essential buildings will be colored orange.
- [Zonta Says NOW](https://www.zonta-district27.org/our-causes): Zonta Says Now is Zonta International’s global initiative to achieve gender-equal climate justice. 
Millions of people have already lost their homes and livelihoods due to extreme weather events caused by climate change. Most of them are women. Women are less able to rebuild their lives.
Zonta Says Now focuses on the importance of educating girls, having more women in parliament, and closing gender gaps in economic participation and responses to climate change.

- [Support for Ukraine - A New Phase](https://www.zonta-district27.org/news/support-for-ukraine-a-new-phase): As of January 1, 2026, the three Zonta Clubs in Ukraine — Lviv, Lviv-Zamok, and Uzhhorod — have assumed responsibility for managing the funds generously donated by Zonta members worldwide since the onset of hostilities. These funds will now be used locally to provide the most appropriate support.
